Hymn to Dionysos the Liberator

Dionysos Ekstatophoros, bringer of ecstacy,
Wanderer in the wilderness,
Delightful child of Zeus and Semele,
Liberate us from our civilized ways,
Free us from our clocks in our dark caves,
And most of all, save us from ourselves.
Beautiful Dionysos, you are our reminder of joy
And of beauty in this life,
That streak of wild beauty cascading through the heavens,
Dancing madly in the forest.
Wild, loud crying god,
Awaken our sleeping selves,
And let us be reborn into the light.
